SI Sedona Awards
Violet Richardson Award
Soroptimist is concerned with the special challenges facing girls and young women today. The organization launched the Violet Richardson Award program in 2000 as a way to recognize girls for their volunteer service to their communities. The program honors young women between the ages of 14 and 17 whose volunteer efforts include: helping other disadvantaged girls; fighting drugs, crime and violence; cleaning up the environment; and working to end discrimination and poverty.
The Sedona club makes a cash award to a young woman in the Verde Valley each year. Applications may be requested from club members or by writing to us at PO Box 1105, Sedona, AZ 86339. Deadline for applications is December 15 each year.
The winner at the club level may advance to higher levels for more cash awards.
Jan Kavet Scholarship

Community Awards
Our club has donated over $ 150,000 in the past 14 years to various Verde Valley organizations that support the Soroptimist vision "to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world". If your non-profit fits those criteria and you wish to be considered, click

Woman's Opportunity Award
This cash award is intended to improve the lives of women, who provide the primary source of financial support to their families, by giving them the resources to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects. The Sedona club targets women living in the Verde Valley. Applications may be downloaded at the Soroptimist webpage
